Brittney Cameron
Occupational Therapist
MSc OT
Brittney obtained her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Alberta and her BA in Psychology at UBCO. Brittney was born and raised in Vernon, BC and enjoys living and working in the beautiful Okanagan, Syilx territory. She has experience working in rural environments with various populations which has led her to develop creative and innovative treatment options for her clients. Brittney believes that how an individual interacts with their environment is affected by the more global influences of their familial, social, cultural, physical and institutional environment which can nurture an individual or constrain them. By viewing each person through this lens, it has given her the opportunity to see people in a more holistic way, which allows her to provide effective treatment and healing options. As an Occupational Therapist, she understands the importance of using a mix of both standardized and functional assessments as well as informal observational methods to get a clearer snapshot of each individual and family that she works with. She enjoys creating and implementing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and families, so they are a partner and an active participant in the therapeutic process.
